Construction Updates

The City of London is excited to share that we are coordinating upgrades at Arthur Ford Park, located at 671 Viscount Road.

Construction for this project is expected to start in Summer 2025. Please note that the schedule is dependent on weather conditions.

Improvements to this park, located at 1345 Bentley Drive, include the following:

• New shade structure and picnic tables.

Improvements to this park, located at 1428 Hastings Drive, include the following:

• Addition of acrylic surfacing on the existing tennis and pickle ball courts.

Improvements to this park, located at 185 McNay Street, include the following:

• New shade structure and picnic tables.
• Improvements to the existing full-size basketball court as part of lifecycle improvements.

Improvements to this park, located at 1345 Bentley Drive, include the following:

Features of this new park include:

• Play equipment and seating as part of the Neighbourhood Parks Improvement Fund.
• Pathways to improve accessibility throughout the park.
• Tree planting and ecological restoration.

Construction for this project is expected to start in 2025. Please note that the schedule is subject to change based on various factors.

Based on public input collected in 2024, the following will be constructed east of the existing washroom building, subject to archaeology and regulatory approvals:

• Two pickleball courts
• One half basketball court
• Seating area
• Tree planting

In addition to the work above, future improvements to the existing spray pad and washroom building will occur. Please note that with the removal of the existing tennis courts in Kiwanis Park - North, the City will be improving and constructing new tennis courts in the surrounding area.

Subject to archaeology and regulatory approvals, construction of the new pickleball courts and half basketball court will occur in 2025. Improvements to the spray pad and washroom building is tentatively planned to start in 2026 and the City will provide further information regarding the upgrades once scope and timing of that project is confirmed.

Improvements to this park, located at 54 Price Street, include the following:

• New playground equipment that will provide a variety of play experiences for children between 2 and 12 years old. Three new swings will be provided in the play circle with one belt swing, one accessible swing, and one tot swing. The safety surfacing in the play area will be engineered woodchips and an accessible ramp will be added.
• Pathway enhancements to improve accessibility will occur throughout the park as part of lifecycle improvements.

Improvements to this park, located just off Fennell Crescent, include the following:

• New playground equipment that will provide a variety of play experiences for children between 2 and 12 years old. The safety surfacing in the play area will be engineered woodchips and an accessible ramp will be added.
• Six new swings will be provided in the play circle with two belt swings, two accessible swings, and two tot swings. 
• Tree plantings will also be incorporated as part of the Neighbourhood Decision Making program.
