The City of London is continuing work to advance the Micro-Modular Shelter site; however, recent weather conditions have affected site readiness.

Since the end of December, the site has experienced repeated freeze-thaw conditions, combined with rain, snow, and significant temperature swings from below freezing to well above freezing. These conditions have affected ground stability and require additional remediation work before construction activities can safely continue.

As a result, some work planned for early January will need to be temporarily delayed, and this will affect previously anticipated timelines for site readiness and participant move-ins. Safety remains the City’s top priority for workers, future residents, and the broader community.

The temporary delays are due to weather and ground conditions and reflect a safety-first approach. We thank the vendors who continue to support the project.
