Getting ready for spring cleaning? As you come across old clothing, curtains, towels, and rags that are ripped, torn, and stained, don't throw them out - we want them!

The Worn or Torn donation drive is a partnership between the City of London and Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes. It runs from May 14, 2026 to June 5, 2026 at the Goodwill Donation Centre on 1225 Wonderland Rd N (Sherwood Forest Mall). We collect old clothing and textiles to reduce unnecessary waste sent to landfill and give old textiles a second life.

What can I donate?

All used clothing, textiles and fabrics will be accepted, whether they are lightly used, soiled, damaged, or end-of-life. This includes:

  • Clothes
  • Sheets
  • Blankets
  • Towels
  • Rags
  • Pillows
  • Stuffed animals
  • Scrap fabric

Why should I donate?

On average, Londoners send about 50% of their reusable textiles to landfill. This puts unnecessary strain on landfill capacity, and wastes the resources required to produce these items. Textile manufacturing consumes large amounts of water and energy, generating greenhouse gas emissions along the way. From production to disposal, every garment carries a carbon footprint — making textile waste an environmental issue at every stage of its lifecycle.

Reusing textiles creates local jobs, supports local individuals and families, and contributes to the local economy.
