About this project
The City of London is upgrading the existing skateboard park in West Lions Park, as part of the City’s Neighbourhood Parks Improvement Fund. West Lions Park is located at 20 Granville Street.
This project is intended to better service the skateboarding community, while also providing improved seating and public gathering spaces in a very busy district park. The improvements in the new skate park will include modular units that add additional value to the park. Recent discussions with area youth helped inform the proposed skate park design. Please note that the existing skate park (except for the half pipe) will be removed and the new skate park will be expanded and shifted further away from the existing baseball diamond.
The City is now seeking input from youth and the surrounding neighbourhood throughout 2025, with the goal of finalizing a design and constructing the project in 2026.
Public engagement
In June 2025, the City of London had a meeting at the Kinsmen Area to discuss and seek input into the West Lions Skate Park design. The City also received input through online surveys over the summer to help further refine the proposed concept.
We encourage all who use the park and the skateboarding community of all experience levels, especially beginners to fill out the survey. To participate in this design process, please provide your contact information and we will send you further details. The survey will be available until December 5, 2025.
