About this project:
In November 2023, City Council approved a Neighbourhood Connectivity Plan for the Huron Heights area. As part of this plan, a new sidewalk will be built on one side of Tewksbury Crescent, between Perth Avenue and Sorrel Road.
Construction is planned for 2025. This new sidewalk will make it easier and safer for students and families to get to Evelyn Harrison Public School.
On-street meeting:
The City hosted an on-street meeting to hear from residents about their experiences and what matters most to them. Staff were also there to answer any questions about the project.
Date: Tuesday, May 6
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Location: In front of Evelyn Harrison Public School (50 Tewksbury Crescent)

Design options:
There are three design options that will be considered for the sidewalk:
1. Standard boulevard sidewalk: The sidewalk is placed behind the curb with a wide strip of grass in between. This provides space for trees.
2. Curb-adjacent sidewalk: The sidewalk is placed directly beside the curb, without a grass boulevard.
3. Sidewalk with road narrowing: The road is made a little narrower, and a sidewalk is added right at the edge of the street with a curb.
