About this project
The City of London is planning construction work on Springbank Reservoirs 1 and 3 to replace and repair aging infrastructure that has exceeded its expected lifecycle.
This project includes:
Stripping of the topsoil from the top of the reservoirs to access the roof membranes
Hauling and stockpiling of the soil on the vacant City of London lands south of the community gardens
Replacement of the roof membrane for Reservoir 1 and 3
Structural repairs to the interior of the reservoir
Repairs to the stairs on Reservoir 3
Soil Layer is restored to reservoir roof tops
Restoration of work areas
Tree removals
Work is to be carried out into two phases with Reservoir 1 work being completed first followed by Reservoir 3. Construction of Phase 1 starts spring 2022 and ends in summer 2022. Construction of Phase 2 starts fall 2022 and ends in spring 2023.
Above: The map above shows the project location. Work will be on Reservoir 1 located north of Commissioners Road and Reservoir 3 located south of Commissioners Road. The area located south of the community gardens will be used as a storage staging and storage area for both projects.
Ongoing public engagement
