About this project

The City of London is planning construction work on Springbank Reservoirs 1 and 3 to replace and repair aging infrastructure that has exceeded its expected lifecycle.

This project includes:

  • Stripping of the topsoil from the top of the reservoirs to access the roof membranes
  • Hauling and stockpiling of the soil on the vacant City of London lands south of the community gardens
  • Replacement of the roof membrane for Reservoir 1 and 3
  • Structural repairs to the interior of the reservoir
  • Repairs to the stairs on Reservoir 3
  • Soil Layer is restored to reservoir roof tops
  • Restoration of work areas
  • Tree removals

Work is to be carried out into two phases with Reservoir 1 work being completed first followed by Reservoir 3. Construction of Phase 1 starts spring 2022 and ends in summer 2022. Construction of Phase 2 starts fall 2022 and ends in spring 2023.

Above: The map above shows the project location. Work will be on Reservoir 1 located north of Commissioners Road and Reservoir 3 located south of Commissioners Road. The area located south of the community gardens will be used as a storage staging and storage area for both projects.
