About the project

Above: The map shows the area where construction will take place. Work is planned on Second Street, from Oxford Street East to south of the CN rail crossing.

About the project

Work to be completed as part of this road reconstruction project includes:

  • Sanitary sewer infrastructure upsizing
  • Restoration of surface disturbances

If you require any special accommodation in accessing the project information or online material, please contact the City project manager listed below, and we will work together to best share the information with you. If you have specific questions about potential impacts to your property, please contact the City project manager.

Pre-construction survey

If you have not completed the pre-construction survey already, we would appreciate you taking the time to fill out the questionnaire sent with the previous communication, to share any feedback you might have related to flooding, water supply, traffic, or any other neighbourhood considerations.

Transportation impacts

The City has evaluated how pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists will be impacted by the construction of this project. We have determined that Second Street will generally remain open to local vehicle traffic only. There will be a few possible disruptions to driveway access at different points in the project. The project will also require a temporary full road closure to complete the installation of the new sanitary sewer under the CN rail crossing. Residents who require accommodation (level entry, advanced notice, etc.) should contact the Project Manager to arrange for access during the construction period. Cyclists and pedestrians should exercise caution around construction sites and follow all construction signs. A Construction Notice will be issued before construction begins with additional information.
