About the project:

The City of London is planning to reconstruct Rectory Street in 2025 to replace aging underground infrastructure that has exceeded its expected lifecycle.

The work includes:

  • Removing the current road surface, curbs and gutters
  • Replacing watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
  • Renewing private drain connections and water services
  • Adding new granular sub-layer, base granular, and asphalt
  • Adding new curbs, catchbasins, and gutters
  • Boulevard restoration (adding new topsoil and sod)
  • New cycling infrastructure
  • Tree removals

Above: The map identifies the approximate limits of the construction project area. Work is planned for Rectory Street from Little Simcoe Street to Florence Street.


Public Update Meeting:

The City of London is hosting a public update meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to provide an update on the project and share information on construction.

Please join the City of London for a drop-in event to view updated construction plans, review necessary tree removals, discuss impacts to your property and to learn more about the project.

Date: Wednesday, November 20, 2024

Time: 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Format: Open house

Location: BMO Centre, 295 Rectory Street, Second Floor, Meeting Room C (elevator available)

Who should join: Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in the immediate project area, including nearby side streets, is invited to participate.
