Construction Update - Spring, 2021

Phase 1a twin tunnel construction was successfully completed in the Spring of this year.

The Phase 1b construction contract was posted for tender on the City’s Bids & Tenders website on May 25^th, 2021, with the tender closing on June 9^th, 2021.

This upcoming phase of construction includes the new section of the creek downstream of the CN rail to Wonderland Road. Pre-construction work is anticipated to start in early July, until crews are able to officially begin in-water work after July 15^th. Phase 1b includes an extensive restoration, tree plantings, habitat features and rehabilitation to an existing wetland feature. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of November.
