Mornington Pond Expansion

About this project

The City will be reconstructing Salisbury Street from Quebec Street to Glasgow Street, Glasgow Street from Salisbury Street to Connaught Avenue, and Connaught Avenue from Glasgow Street to the west entrance of McCormick Park to replace and improve the quality and reliability of water, sewer and road infrastructure. In addition, the City will be expanding the Mornington Stormwater Pond on the west side of the existing pond.

Proposed Work Details:

  • Existing pond expansion to the west of existing pond
  • Water reservoir removal (underground work to the east of existing pond)
  • Watermain, sanitary and storm sewer replacement
  • Partial replacement of existing private drain connections
  • Sidewalk replacement
  • Concrete curb replacement
  • New asphalt road surface

Construction is expected to start in spring 2021 and anticipated to last until fall 2021 with minor cleanup and cleanout of existing pond in 2022

Ongoing public engagement
