About this project

The City will be reconstructing Hickson Avenue, from Ridout Street to Belgrave Avenue, and Belgrave Avenue from Hickson Avenue to Chester Street, to replace and improve the quality and reliability of water, sewer and road infrastructure.

This project includes:

  • Watermain replacement
  • Water service replacement to property line
  • Sanitary sewer replacement
  • Storm sewer replacement
  • Partial replacement of existing private drain connections
  • Tree removals
  • Replacement of sidewalk and concrete curb and gutter on Hickson Avenue
  • New sidewalk and concrete curb and gutter on Belgrave Avenue
  • New asphalt road surface

Construction is expected to start in spring 2022 and is anticipated to last until fall 2022 with some minor clean-up work in spring/summer of 2023.

Surface reconstruction and tree assessment report maps are available upon request. Please contact the Project Manager.

Ongoing public engagement

The project team has recorded a narrated Project Update Meeting (PUM) for residents to learn about project details and impacts. The video presentation has been split into three parts and can be accessed on the right-hand side of the page under "Project Update Meeting - Narrated Presentation."
