Stretching from Wellington to Ridout Streets, Dundas Place is a vibrant, flexible space for shopping, dining, and celebration. With wide sidewalks and no curbs, it transforms into a lively hub for patios, sidewalk sales, and street performances. The space can easily close to vehicles for special events, giving pedestrians more room during programming.

Dundas Place Activation
If you're a community group, non-profit organization, or a resident of London, we invite you to submit a proposal for an Activation project! This could be one or a series of temporary, small-scale events, installations, or displays in public spaces.
Selected projects will be eligible for operational support from the Dundas Place team. Activations should be delivered between May and November 2025.
Submit your idea and help bring vibrant, creative activations to life in our community!
What is an Activation?
An Activation is different from a Special Event in that they are typically smaller-scale and frequently recurring. Whereas a Special Event is larger-scale and typically one-off or infrequently occurring. If your idea is more in line with a Special Event, you are invited to apply to host your event here.
Applications are open to groups and residents of London. We encourage groups with experience in organizing outdoor public events, as well as those with an established community following and expertise in event marketing and communications. Applicants interested in partnering with the City of London must be in good standing with the Special Events department.
What do groups need to do/share?
The City of London is seeking partners who can:
Present a clear activation idea with a strong vision and thematic focus.
Actively attend and oversee the activation on the day of the event.
Promote the activation to a dedicated community audience.
Bring subject matter expertise or relevant skills to enhance the activation.
How can the City of London support?
For non-revenue generating activations, the City of London may provide the following support:
Equipment: Available items include bistro sets, giant games, audio equipment, projection equipment, stage, tents, folding tables, umbrellas, and assistance with set-up and take-down.
Financial Support: Artist or performer fees, as well as reimbursement for eligible event expenses.
Organizational Support: Assistance with site planning, logistics, and scheduling.
Promotion: Promotion of the activation through Dundas Place’s official social media accounts.
When do Dundas Place activations take place?
Dundas Place activations are primarily scheduled between May and November. Proposals for dates outside this range may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The City of London plans to close a portion of Dundas Place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, as well as during the day on Sundays. We encourage applications that align with these time frames.
Where can Dundas Place activations take place?
Activations can be held in various locations, including:
A portion of the sidewalk (with the street open to traffic),
Market Lane, or
An entire City block closed to traffic.
