The City is planning to widen Dingman Drive from Wellington Road South to Hwy 401 from a 2-lane rural cross-section to a 4-lane urban cross-section. The project will add above ground improvements, including asphalt multi-use pathways, landscaping, traffic signals and streetlighting, while repairing and replacing underground infrastructure.

Construction update

Construction on Dingman Drive is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 31, 2023 and last until approximately December 2023.

Construction staging:

This project has been staged to minimized inconveniences and maximize access. The timeline is subject to change and it may vary depending on weather and other factors.

Stage 1:

The limits of works for Stage 1 will be between the bridge over Highway 401 and the most easterly entrance to the Costco gas station. During this stage of construction, Dingman Drive will be closed to traffic. Please refer to appendix “A” for a map of the closure and detour.

Anticipated duration of Stage 1: July 31st to mid-October 2023

Stage 2:

The limits for stage 2 will be between the most easterly entrance to the Costco gas station and Wellington Road South. During this stage of construction Dingman Drive will remain open, with one lane of traffic maintained.

Anticipated duration of Stage 2: mid-October to mid-November 2023

Stage 3:

The limits for stage 3 will be the same as in stage 2, the traffic will be flipped onto a newly constricted road, during stage 2 works, to allow for completion of other works required within these limits. During this stage of construction Dingman Drive will remain open, with one lane of traffic maintained.

Anticipated duration of Stage 3: mid-November to mid-December 2023

Stage 4:

The limits for stage 4 will be Dingman Drive from Wellington Road South, to approximately 140 metres east of Wellington Road South. During this stage of construction Dingman Drive will be closed to traffic.
