U5 Employee Resource Group supports employees with under five years' service in their current role. Some U5 employees might be brand new to the corporation, and some may have been employees for 20+ years and just moved to a new department or facility.

U5 helps new employees with:

  • Networking
  • Navigating the organization
  • Career guidance
  • Social activities

U5 helps the organization with:

  • Improving Corporate On-boarding for New Employees
  • Advice on retaining top talent
  • Provide input on corporate initiatives (ARAOWG, Safe Cities, etc.)
  • Employees Networking & Connecting across Service Areas
  • Improving workplace culture

All U5 initiatives are made possible by employee volunteers who sit on the U5 Executive, to develop annual work plans and coordinate projects throughout the year. The U5 Executive often relies on other volunteers to bring each project to life – planning events, promoting, editing documents, creating surveys – even pullin' trucks and flippin' burgs!

Past events have included social events, Lunch & Learns, and networking events with mentors. U5 members have also helped develop resources, including guides to common City of London acronyms, understanding pensions, and accessing internal professional development. Check out our Resources (on the right) and Past Events sections!

The U5 Executivemeets about once each month, led by co-chairs Francesca Gable & Joannah Campbell. If you have questions or are looking to be added to our volunteer list, please contact U5@london.ca or reach out to a member of the U5 Executive.
